Pricing and fees

Updated Oct 25, 2026

Payfer’s fee comes out of the price you charge and is split out on-chain at settlement. The person you charge pays exactly the amount you set.

Fees follow tiers based on each application’s lifetime totals. They never reset monthly. A tier ends when either its charged volume or its charge count runs out, whichever comes first.

Until enterprise terms are agreed, the Volume rate continues to apply.

Crossing a boundary

A charge that straddles a tier boundary is priced marginally: each portion pays the rate of the tier it falls in, and the per-charge fee applies once. For example, a $2.00 charge made at $999.00 of lifetime volume pays nothing on its first dollar and 5% plus $0.001 on the second, a fee of $0.051.

A charge that uses up a tier’s charge count moves to the next tier in full. Refunded charges still count toward lifetime totals.

Minimum charge

Charges, reservations and collections must be at least $0.005. The per-charge fee covers the fixed cost of settling a payment, so very small charges carry a higher effective rate: at $0.005 the Growth fee is exactly 25%. The fee never exceeds the charge.

Your tier

Your application’s current tier and lifetime totals are returned as pricing by GET /v1/apps/me and shown on the application’s page in the dashboard. Each payment reports its own fee and developerProceeds.

Funding

People top up their balance by card from $5.00. Stripe’s processing fee (2.9% + $0.30, rounded up to whole cents) is added on top at checkout, so the balance is always credited the full amount entered: $5.00 costs $5.46, and $20.00 costs $20.91.
